IT Solutions Contest "CultHack Hackathon" to Take Place in Liepāja

To give an opportunity for creative, innovation- and business-minded people to come up with new business ideas, the association Windhackers in cooperation with Liepaja City Council will organise a contest of IT solutions and business ideas CultHack Hackathon on 20-22 September.
"Liepaja is an excellent place for new and innovative ideas because the city offers an environment which is stimulating for creativity. Liepaja is renowned as a place where cultural, entertainment and tourism events are held. Therefore, it will be a great challenge for the participants to create new IT solutions that will benefit the public and reinforce the areas of culture, entertainment and tourism" admits Karlis Skuja, the organiser of CultHack Hackathon.
The goal of CultHack Hackathon is within 48 hours to come up with new, innovative business IT ideas in the area of tourism, entertainment and culture, assess the business model potential of these ideas and build interdisciplinary teams for their implementation. The target audience of this event is IT, design, business and communication students, start-up members, culture, entertainment and tourism experts, business representatives and investors.
CultHack Hackathon is supported by Liepaja City Council, “Botwiser”, Investment and Development Agency of Latvia, “Tiamo Group”, “Swedbank”, “LatBAN”, “Froont”, “Dienas bizness”, “Tele2”, ”Sociālo tīklu māja”, “Art Hotel Roma”, “Law Office Spridzāns”, “Madara Cosmetics”, “Coworking Liepāja”, “Dirty Deal Audio”, “Digital Freedom Festival”, “Metālmeistars” Ltd., “Toode Rada”, “Usales.lv”, IT Waffle meetup, Kultūras Sistēmu Centrs, University of Latvia, Turība University, “InCopy” Ltd., “WindCut” Ltd., as well as partners of the project No.1.1.1.3/18/A/004 “Kurzeme Innovation Grants for Students".
The winners will get valuable prizes that will help continue working on the idea in the follow-up to the hackathon.
